International freight demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), recorded a4.9% year-on-year increase, outpacing the4.2% growth in available freight capacity. This led to a slight rise in the international freight load factor, which improved by0.4 percentage points to 61.5%.

The AAPA attributed April's robust bongdaso performance toadvance loading of shipmentson specific routes, as businesses sought to mitigate risks associated with tariff uncertainties. Furthermore, shifting trade flows and rerouting to alternative gatewaysshowcased the air bongdaso sector's adaptability amidst evolving supply chain dynamics.

In addition to the positive performance of the bongdaso segment, Asia Pacific airlines reported significant growth in international passenger traffic, with passenger numbers rising by10.5% year-on-year. However, the resilience of the bongdaso sector against global economic headwinds remains particularly noteworthy.

The AAPA acknowledged that while the global manufacturing sector has faced notable challenges in recent months, the sustained growth in air bongdaso volumes underscores the critical role of the industry in facilitating trade and supporting economic activity across the Asia Pacific region.
